Registration - Month of June during library hours; starting June 1, 2010. Children ( 0-18 years) Kick-off Program - Tuesday evening, June 22: 5:00-8:00 pm (All Ages) cost: $1.00 pool fee. Make a Splash at the Community Pool for a night of activity and fun. Register for water con- tests and events at the pool that night and win prizes. *Rain Date: June 24. Make-and-Take Station– The library will host a craft station everyday during library hours June 7th through July 29. This self-serve station will offer crafts, puzzles and coloring pages to work on while visiting the library or as a take-home activity. Playgroup/Storytime– Monday mornings, June 14 through August 19, 10:00-11:00 am The Library and the Guidance Center Parents As Teachers will host a fun-filled activity for parents and children (age 0 to 5). *Note: no session July 5 and July 26. Story Hour– Monday afternoon, 1:00-2:00 pm Dates to be announced Splash into a library story hour with activities and crafts for children (Grade K through Grade 5). Activity Night- Tuesday nights, June 29 through July 20: 6:30 – 7:30 pm The library will host a fun-filled night of stories, crafts and activities for children (ages 4 to 10 years old). Mother-Daughter Book Club - Thursday night July 15: 6:30 - 7:30 pm (registration required) Each participant will receive a copy of “Rules” by Cynthia Lord (An engaging, funny story about a teenage girl with an autistic brother. All she wants is a normal life and a good friend, but instead she’s making rules like:“No toys in the fish tank” to help her brother behave.) After participants read the book, they come to book-talk night to discuss the book. For moms and their daughters (Ages 9 through 12). Snacks will be provided. Bennetts Valley Elem. Library - Wednesday mornings, June 23 through July 28: 9:30 - 12:00 noon Fox Township Elem. Library - Thursday mornings, June 24 through July 29: 9:30-12:00 noon Come join us for crafts, reading and story activities for school students (Grade K through 5). Tween/Teen Nite- Thursday night, July 22: 6:00-7:30 pm (ages 10 and up) Art supplies will be provided. Help promote summertime reading by creating chalk drawings on the sidewalk outside the library then come into the cool, air-conditioned library to make ART CARDS: Secret Book Recommendations and/or draft a Message in a Bottle: anonymous gifts of kind words to give away. Silent Movie Showing! - Tuesday night, July 27: 6:30 – 7:45 pm (All ages) Two short films to be announced. Popcorn will be provided. Award Pick Up - During the Scholastic Book Fair so you can pick a free prize from the fair. Mon- day through Saturday, August 2 through August 16 during library hours. |
